D.I.Y. Paper Candy Gift Topper / Party Decor

Hello there everyone!  We were recently inspired by our brand new Printable Patterned Tag Sets and our pretty Luxe Vintage Inspired Ribbons to create these sweet Paper Candy Gift Toppers + Party Decor.  The colors and patterns are so bright and festive that we just couldn't keep them to ourselves...so please read on for our tutorial on how to make your own!  We hope you will have fun!  xo Ez + Marichelle

Step 1: Gather your supplies and punch (or hand-cut) out your "candy" shapes:

  • Patterned Gift Tag Sets - printed onto cardstock
  • Luxe Ribbons (in whichever colors you'd like)
  • Scissors
  • Craft Paper Punches in assorted shapes/sizes.  We used a 1 1/2" circle punch by EK Sucess and a small scalloped oval punch (around 1 3/8" long) by Marvy (both purchase at our local Michael's.
  • Double-sided tape (the permanant variety is recommended)
  • Twine (optional)

Step 2: Cut ribbon into segments between 3" to 3.5" in length.

Step 3: Begin by sticking your ribbon into the center of your punched circle (printed side down) with a piece of double-sided tape.  Repeat this process with another piece of tape and ribbon (crossing your ribbon as shown in the photo).  You can use up to three layers of ribbon or alter the colors for a different effect.

Step 4: Place a piece of double-sided tape on top of your last layer of ribbon and finish by topping with another punched circle.  Press firmly to adhere.

Step 5: Using a pair of sharp scissors, carefully snip the ends of your ribbons in an inverted V.

Step 6: You're done!  Have fun with your sweet paper candy designs!

Step 7: For hanging party decor or garlands, place a piece of twine inside your shape before sealing closed with your final paper layer (step 4).

Step 8: Use your paper candies to top gifts, use as placecards, create cupcake toppers (insert a toothpick inside each one to acheive this), decorate a child's room and more!

If you give this project a try we'd love to see images of your results!  xox Ez + Marichelle

The personal loans are essential for people, which would like to organize their company. As a fact, it's very easy to get a consolidation loan.

This is too pretty!
Girls, you make me so miserable sometimes!
I was struggling today for half an hour, trying to make a nice thing out of my ribbon when warping a present, and it became so boring!
Wish I have seen your post earlier today!!

Thanks so much for sharing your bright ideas with us!!
