Last minute gift idea

Short on cash and time? Need a last minute hostess gift for the fifth holiday party you've been invited to this year? No worries! Just hit your local grocery store, pick up a few items and you'll be on your way to creating this very easy DIY S'mores Kit that's sure to be a hit with kids of all ages!

You'll need:

  • 1 box of graham crackers
  • 1 bag of marshmallows
  • 1 big chocolate bar of your choice
  • bbq wooden skewers (optional)

Supplies:

This kit includes 9 marshmallow pieces, 1/2 bar of hazelnut chocolate and 1/2 bar of milk chocolate, 9 large pieces of graham crackers and 9 wooden skewers.

We used a mixture of cellophane and glassine bags to repackage all of the items. If you can't get your hands on glassine bags, you may also use parchment paper or wax paper to create a protective sleeve/band for the chocolates. The crackers I purchased came with two ready-packed bundles!

The labels are simply punched out of kraft paper using a 2-inch circular punch, embellished with a red dotted border (super fine red sharpie) then attached to the packaged goods using a glue-stick.

Enjoy!

P.S. If you will be giving a similar gift (using repackaged food) it is best to include a list of the ingredients for those who may suffer from allergies, or to save the wrappers in case they are needed.

D.I.Y. 5 Minute Paper Doily Garland

Hello everyone!  The holidays are upon us and just like you we are scrambling around finishing up last minute shopping and such.  Fortunately our project today might be the easiest one yet, and the results are simply lovely: D.I.Y. 5 Minute Paper Doily Garland!

Supplies needed:

Directions:

Take your paper doilies and fold them in half:

Cut the length of Baker's Twine that you'd like and sandwich your twine inside your folded doilies.  Space doilies out as desired.  The doilies will stay put pretty well, but continue to the next step if you want your doilies to be a little more secure.:

(optional) Use double sided tape to secure doilies (place a piece inside each doily and press to adhere):

Hang and enjoy!  Happy holidays from both of us to all of you!  xox Ez + Marichelle

Project Inspiration: D.I.Y. Patterned Twistie Ties

Today we put together a little project inspiration for you on how to make these sweet Patterned Twistie Ties using our new Kraft Twistie Ties.  We got this idea from blogger Nancy Ward was kindly blogged about Nice Package a few weeks ago.

To make:

  • Select markers and pens in your favorite colors.  We used permanant markers and sparkly gel pens for ours.
  • Working on protected surface (like a piece of scrap paper, or a notebook like we did) begin marking your twistie tie with stripes, dots, etc.  Complete both sides.
  • Have fun experimenting with colors and patterns.
  • Wrap up small gifts, treat bags, and more!

Kraft Twistie Ties can be found in our etsy shop and big cartel shop.  Have fun!  xo Ez + Marichelle

Project Inspiration: Mini Envelope Advent Tree

Hi everyone!  Here's a fun little project we put together using our two latest shop addtions: Colored Dot Stickers + Mini Envelopes.

For this advent calendar we decided to form the shape of a tree (it looks so cute on the wall in Marichelle's house), but you could create any shape you like (perhaps a wreath or other festive form).

For this project we used:

To start we positioned our first envelope for the top of the tree and stuck it to the wall with removable adhesive.  Then working down from there we formed rows in the following amounts:

  • Row One: 1 envelope
  • Row Two: 2 envelopes
  • Row Three: 3 envelopes
  • Row Four: 4 envelopes
  • Row Five: 5 envelopes
  • Row Six: 7 envelopes
  • Row Seven: 1 envelope (for tree trunk)
  • Row Eight: 2 envelopes (for tree stand)

On each envelope we stuck one of our Colored Dot Stickers and then wrote numbers 1-25 on them with a fine-tipped marker.  Inside each envelope tucked a little note with a clue where the advent gift for that day can be found (i.e. "Look inside the junk drawer").  We finished he whole thing off with a "tree topper" a.k.a. one of our Delicate Paper Lace Dolies.  So fun and easy to create!

Find the products used in this project in our Nice Package (etsy shop) + Nice Package (big cartel shop).

Have fun! xo Ez + Marichelle
